The Kempen: a landscape bursting with stories!
Across the heathland, through the forest, along meandering streams, maybe even pop across the border? Because, fortunately for the Belgians, the Kempenland continues there. And then there’s that rich history of the Kempen! Napoleon left his mark on the Cartierheide. The forests were the domain of smugglers, and hawkers walked along the sand paths with their basket of goods on their back. The landscape here is bursting with stories...
