From plays and come…

Constructed in 1930, Openluchttheater De Hunnebergen is the second largest outdoor theatre in   North Brabant. And because of this always innovative and varied range on offer, a wide audience find their way to this forested area. And even more so since the renovation of the hospitality square! The recurring ‘Bier in het Bos’ event is popular; it is a beer tasting in an exceptional spot. ‘Beer in the forest! Tasty beers, great atmosphere! I’d say: when’s the next edition!!?’ an enthusiastic visitor says.

Versatile programme
From plays and comedy to musical performances for children (usually during the day), to performances for adults in the evenings and weekends: De Hunnebergen offers a varied programme, so it also welcomes a wide variety of visitors. The extensive forested area in which the theatre is located is connected to the over 1,000-hectare forest and heath area of Boswachterij De Kempen. It is therefore great to combine a visit with a cycling, walking, mountain bike or horse-riding trip through the natural green surroundings. Or combined with admiration in the Bakkerijmuseum (Bakery Museum) in nearby Luyksgestel.

Authentic cultural experience
‘The most beautiful piece of culture in the Kempen region forests’ offers cabaret, music, plays and events from May to November. Take your spot on one of the benches under the trees and experience art and culture in a unique and authentic way in the countryside. As a foundation, De Hunnebergen runs entirely with the support of enthusiastic volunteers, and you feel that: ‘Wonderful outdoor theatre, fantastic setting with friendly volunteers who arrange everything and a great bar too.’ And you do not have to worry about cancellations due to less favourable weather: part of the stand can be covered within a few minutes. It is ideal when it rains and as added shelter alongside the many trees.
