In de herfst van zijn leven heeft Johnny Cash een aantal prachtige platen opgenomen, de zogenaamde ‘American Recordings’. Op deze cd’s speelt hij zijn laatste eigen songs als ‘When The Man Comes Around’, ‘Country Boy’ en ‘Mean Eyed Cat’, maar ook songs van anderen die hij op eigenwijze vertolkt zoals het bloedstollende ‘Hurt’ en het liefdevolle ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’. Boys Named Sue heeft onlangs de cd ‘The Cash Recordings’ uitgebracht als tribute aan the Man in Black en het album ‘American Recordings’.

In deze derde theatershow van Boys Named Sue wordt je meegenomen in het muzikale landschap van de American Recordings, soms heel teder, soms melancholisch, maar vaak ook Rockin’ and Rollin’ en natuurlijk altijd op hun eigen energieke Boys Named Sue wijze.

English In the autumn of his life, Johnny Cash recorded a number of wonderful albums, the so-called 'American Recordings.’ On these CDs, he is playing the last songs he wrote, like 'When The Man Comes Around,’ 'Country Boy' and 'Mean Eyed Cat.’ But he is also playing his own version of songs by others, like the nerve-racking song 'Hurt' and the lovely song 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.’ Boys Named Sue recently released their CD 'The Cash Recordings' as a tribute to the Man in Black and his 'American Recordings.’

In this third Boys Named Sue theater show, you will be taken on a journey into the musical landscape of the American Recordings, sometimes very tender, sometimes melancholic, but often Rockin' and Rollin.' And of course always in the original and energetic Boys Named Sue way.
